The scarcity brought about by the economic downturn has significantly and negatively impacted Libraries' abilities to adapt to change. A key component of this is our staff’s ability to cope with increased demands and subsequent stress while still finding their work meaningful on a professional level. This article will make the distinction between resource scarcity - an economic issue - and the mindset that resource scarcity creates. It will conclude with strategies for helping staff and library leaders to manage this scarcity mindset, lowering workplace stress while improving overall organizational health.Downloads
